Thai traditional massage and bodywork originates from a rich tradition of comprehensive and holistic healing over centuries, offering freedom and relief to a wide variety of conditions presenting in both body and mind.
In this 3-day introductory class, learners will encounter Thai traditional anatomy and physiology and develop skill in a variety of basic tools and techniques to generally address the full-body in a single session.
This class will cover essential techniques in the context of developing a general, non-treatment specific full-body session to help clients relieve minor aches and pains, loosen their bodies, relax their minds and experience new movement possibilities.
Additionally, learners will begin to understand the assessment skills required to deepen their studies and bring their Thai bodywork skills and treatment options into the therapeutic realm in the future, if they should choose to do so.
Practicing Thai traditional bodywork requires a unique set of body mechanics and a variety of client positions. This area of practice and learning will be given considerable attention so that learners feel confident and capable in delivering a full-body session while keeping the comfort and well-being of both client and practitioner in focus.
Tuition includes all class learning materials.
Pre-requisite: prior training in hands-on work or movement practice
